2010 SKUUT METAL BALANCE BIKE

4/2011:  THIS BALANCE BIKE IS NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED... :(

Similar sized bike for ages 4-6 will be the Kinderbike Morph

Other bikes for this age range are the Mini Glider and Tykes Bike 16"

Skuut just came out with their newest balance bike - a metal balance bike to compliment their already popular wooden version. However, the metal skuut has many different features than the wooden Skuut so here is the scoop!

The metal skuut is almost the exact size as a 12" pedal bike as seen in the photo here. (on right - skuut next to 12 inch pedal bike)     The starting seat height is higher than the average balance bike - starting at around 16.5 inches from the ground up to 19 inches.  This will be great for kids around 3 1/2 - 5 1/2.

The skuut wooden balance bike onthe other hand has a seat range of 13.5 - 16.5 inches and slated for kids around 2 1/2 - early 4 with a low straight handlebar out front - great for the little kids and helping to find their balance.

This new balance bike can be an big advantage for an older preschooler who will transition very easily from balance bike to pedal bike and be accustomed to the high handlebars and larger frame.

It also comes with a single handbrake and pneumatic air tires for good speed.  The handlebars adjust quite a range to fit a taller or shorter child, and the seat has a quick release lever for quick adjustments without tools.

The bike is alittle heavier than some of the smaller balance bikes on the market, however, with the average starting age being 3 1/2, the weight of the bike should not be a problem - coming in alittle over 11 pounds.    The younger children do better with lighter bikes.

The Skuut metal balance bike also has a slick look, looking very similar to a young kids pedal bike with will be a popular selling point with this bike.

Bottom Line - great balance bike for the bigger kids at a great price!   Worth every penny when you see how easily your child transitions from a pedal bike to a balance bike with barely a worry or tear.
